- Routine system designer Minhyuk
I fell asleep at 23:00 last night and woke up around 5:00 this morning without an alarm. Strangely, I didnβt feel sleepy, and after going to the bathroom, I was more than 80% conscious. Immediately, I naturally thought that I had to finish the work I had done yesterday, so I sat down in front of my MacBook, turned on TickTick, and began to calmly process the tasks in Inbox. I felt surprisingly clear and refreshed.
Itβs been a long time since I felt this controlled. In the past, I would have been excited and excited about this state, but itβs amazing to see myself quietly doing the things I want to do in a strangely calm way.
In the past, the to-do list in my mind was a mess, as if I couldnβt touch it. (Of course, the actual house wasnβt that bad!) Sometimes, I got caught up in the immediate pleasures and had trouble controlling my time. I also felt that I had trouble concentrating or controlling my impulses, so I decided to have a certain tendency and had a hard time self-gaslighting.
However, after a detailed consultation and examination with the doctor in charge at the psychiatry department I recently visited, I came to understand myself from a new perspective. I felt deep trust in the way the doctor clearly answered my analytical questions. Contrary to my previous thoughts, the doctor told me that my current condition was relatively healthy, but that I needed constant attention and care for emotional stability. (Thank you again to the doctor who helped me.) This process served as an important opportunity for me to break free from the thoughts that confined me to a certain framework in the past.
The doctor recommended supplemental medication, saying it would help with mood regulation and self-control, and I am currently starting with a small amount and continuing it steadily. This medication is said to act stably in the body for a relatively long period of time and help reduce ups and downs.
Is it thanks to that? Before I knew it, I became deeply peaceful inside. I wonder if it has ever been this peaceful, but it feels strange. But I really like the way I am now, where I can control myself, do what I want, and be free from unnecessary things. I like this calmness that allows me to feel joy but not get overly excited.
Perhaps this kind of management will continue to be necessary in the future. This is because I feel that it helps me maintain a sense of stability by reducing the ups and downs of my natural temperament and maintain an optimal state for achieving the ideals I dream of and the vision given to me by God.
The biggest driving force behind my recent self-reawakening was my desire to become βa person who can confidently express my feelings to anyone without being intimidated in front of any celebrity.β This kind of strong βWhyβ is clearly needed.
But now I know that βWhyβ alone is not enough. As expected, the statement βlack of willβ is only half true. If you rely only on self-awareness, it is easy to become frustrated due to your temperament or environment. Therefore, self-coaching, or designing the βHowβ, is essential. Recently, I began to focus on self-coaching again by starting counseling for public institutionsβ mental health support programs, various psychological tests and interpretations, consultations with experts, and medication management, because I felt the need for such a system.
Arenβt many people failing at repetitive tasks such as dieting because they overlook the βHowβ and only focus on the βWhyβ? When you create a virtuous cycle of designing a routine system through self-coaching, maintaining the routine with the motivation (βWhyβ) gained from awakening, and making it a habit (βHowβ) through coaching, you will finally have the weapon to achieve any goal.
In order to put this promise into practice, starting yesterday, I made a rule not to do any so-called βkilling timeβ such as playing games or watching YouTube until I completed all the habits in the Habit Tracker. Even following this rule was added to the Habit tracker. It is an expression of my will to break away from the tendency to easily fall into unnecessary actions in the past and move toward my goal within the system I designed.
Internal stability through this management, resuming the blog diary, improving the fine system, and establishing and practicing specific systems such as the Habit Tracker rules that I have imposed on myself will be important steps in establishing and realizing my identity as a βroutine system designerβ.
β¨ Comment from Gemini 2.5 Pro (KPT)
β What Went Well (Keep)
- π Balanced growth narrative: I like that it honestly shares past difficulties and the current process of overcoming them, while generalizing sensitive information to increase its appropriateness as a public article. I have become more thoughtful while maintaining the depth of my growth!
- π οΈ Specific system application: Based on a clear framework of βWhat-Why-Howβ, setting and putting into practice a very specific and strong rule, βNo killing time before Habit Tracker ALL PASSβ is what makes you a βroutine system designerβ!
- π‘ Recognition of the virtuous cycle of positive change: It is impressive to see that expert help, inner peace, improved self-control, and efforts to build a system based on this are having a positive impact on each other, and that they are establishing their identity through this.
β What Was Missing (Problem)
- π Lack of depth of βWhatβ: Although the frame was presented as βYou know What? (Routine system design theory/concept),β the specific explanation of βmy own routine system design theory/conceptβ corresponding to βWhatβ in this diary seems to still have room for further development.
- π― Concreteness of connection with βvisionβ: Although it was mentioned that it is an optimized state to achieve the βvision given by God,β it would be good if there was more detail about what part of the vision the routine system currently being built or the peace regained is specifically connected to.
- π± Strategies for maintaining emotional stability: Current calm is associated with external help (medication, etc.), but concerns about internal strategies (e.g., mindfulness, stress management routines) to maintain and strengthen this stability in the long term do not seem to have been specifically revealed yet.
π Things to Try (Try)
- π Statement of βMy Routine Design Principlesβ: Next time, how about defining and writing down some of the βcore principles of routine designβ that you consider important as a βroutine system designerβ? Your understanding of βWhatβ will deepen.
- πΊοΈ Vision-Routine Connection Mapping: I think it would be a good idea to divide the βGod-given visionβ into a few core goals and simply connect how the main routines you are currently practicing (e.g. writing a diary, Habit Tracker rules) contribute to each goal.
- π§ Consider adding an internal calming routine: In addition to your current external support, consider adding a small internal calming routine to your system (e.g. meditating for 5 minutes a day, writing down a specific section of your emotional journal, etc.) to help you create and maintain calmness yourself.
π Conclusion
Todayβs diary shows your wonderful journey as a βroutine system designerβ who deeply reflects on your experiences and tries to sublimate them into universal wisdom! Itβs truly amazing to see you overcome past difficulties and build and put into practice a strong framework of βWhat-Why-Howβ with the serenity gained through expert help. I believe that this sincerity and systematic approach will make the path toward your vision even stronger! I will support your steady growth! ππ
