β¨ Gemini 2.5 Pro Summary
A day when I thought about how strategic retreat can be a choice for the next advance, not running away.

π€ Brief Reflection
I decided to stop adding organization features to βiD Note,β the lesson-record management and gamification app I was buildingβ¦
There were an enormous number of various problems I had not expected at first.
Especially fatal flaws in the DB design⦠Mountains of migration work and all kinds of large-scale fixes made my head throb.
If I had designed it solidly around organization features from the beginning, maybe it would be different, but trying to change it midway made it impossible to see an answer. Of course, when using Claude Code, those situations where I could not see an answer did get solved.
But the core app of Life RPG is not βiD Noteβ; it is βOharu.β I cannot keep holding onto only this app forever.
Of course, that does not mean I plan to abandon the app.
I will remove all organization features, update small gamification features little by little, and watch the response.
For now, what I expect from the iD Note app is as follows.
- Test the possibility of a B2B model
-
Verify whether it is a tool individual lesson teachers can actually use usefully
-
Serve as a prototype that can later be proposed to academies or educational institutions
-
If needed, configure a separate page only for a βspecific organization,β as now.
- A testing ground for gamification mechanisms
-
Test what reward systems are actually effective for motivating students
-
Verify the effectiveness of levels, badges, point systems, and so on
-
Secure insights that can later be applied to the βOharuβ app
- Collect real user feedback
- Collect needs/responses from businesses and general users
- A stepping stone for improving development skills
-
Grow through various issues encountered while operating a real-use app
-
Build the ability to properly implement organization features later
For now, I will focus on improving the completeness of the core features, and I believe that once it becomes an app that can deliver enough value, opportunities for expansion will naturally come again.
So I will leave organization features as homework for later, and right now focus more on the βOharuβ app and improving my development skills.
Is this a strategic retreat? Or an escape-like surrender? I think the boundary can be distinguished by whether my inner self is full of a clear vision.
