GPT now feels like it is becoming my external brain.
Even with GPT-4o already becoming normal in daily life, my quality of life has risen this much. So if o3, announced on the final day of 12 days of OpenAI, is released in early 2025 as planned, and if it shows performance close to AGI (artificial general intelligence) like OpenAI claimsβ¦
It really feels inevitable that we are entering an era where the concepts and boundaries of countless terms and words will be radically expanded or redefined. Just like Computer once meant a person who computes, then a Computer(calculator), and now just todayβs Computer.

After the AI boom, the chicken game with humanityβs fate on the line has already begun, and there is no sign of it stopping. My chest swells, honestly.
Sometimes I even think, wouldnβt a nuclear war that sends us back to the primitive age actually raise the odds of preserving humanity?
Well, even if that were true, I cannot exactly jump off a train whose brakes are shattered all by myself. I guess I have no choice but to keep moving fast and developing along with the changes like now. And honestly, it is also true that these changes fit me way too well, so I am enjoying themβ¦
The Singularity Is Comingβ¦
Still, if an AI(AGI) Agent actually becomes popular in 2025, the exact year that the movie Her, with its protagonist falling in love with AI, so uncannily chose for its setting? If humanoids become popular in 2026, led by Tesla and China? And if quantum computers become commercialized after all that fast progress? And if quantum computers then start being used for deep learning? The arrival of superintelligence may be a matter of days. If superintelligence starts deep learning on its own, the singularity has already been crossed long ago, and honestly, that is game over.

The day when an nth industrial revolution happens by the year will arrive soon⦠I do not know anymore lol. Anyway, humanity will absolutely not be able to handle it.
Electricity was invented in the 1880s and apparently reached rural areas by the 1920s. But when I look at humanity developing this far in almost 100 years, I do not think the future waiting for us will be full of roses. It feels like I am watching the foundation work for the Tower of Babel in the Bibleβ¦
Maybe I am just worrying for nothing. I must be getting old.
