πŸ’ Diary

When I develop these days, the big picture and logic are already drawn, but once I actually implement things, I often get blocked by small errors and detailed issues. These situations frustrate me the most.

But when I think about it, the old me endured these situations pretty well. The old me, right after first learning how to print stars in C, was so excited that without even knowing functions, I stayed up for two or three nights and made a 2,000-line Tetris. I had serious persistence and patience. These days, I feel like I have rarely sat with detail-heavy work that requires that level of persistence.

Of course, with cheat keys like o1 and GPT-4o, there are many cases where I do not have to spend as much time on those tiny tasks. Efficiency matters most now. But I also worry a little that this is not just laziness, age, or weaker coding muscles; maybe it is a side effect of depending too much on AI.

Still, I do not think this is solved by coding without AI or training algorithm problems separately. I do not know what to do. I was just repeatedly pasting error messages and code into AI and demanding, β€œDo it, do it!” when this thought came to mind, so I wrote it down.

✨ GPT-4o Comment (KPT)

Keep

  • You reflected on your development attitude and compared AI dependence with past persistence.
  • Remembering your old passionate development experience helped you examine strengths and weaknesses.

Problem

  • You have not found a balance between old persistence and current efficiency.
  • Repeated detail errors can create mental fatigue.

Try

  • Use AI as an advisor, not only as an answer vending machine.
  • Record small wins whenever you solve a detail.
  • Add short tasks that train persistence.
