What Came Out of a One-Shot Request Was Garbage in the End

Anything that pops out just because I said, “Make me modern, clean UI/UX,” is ultimately garbage. I regret that I expected, even a little, that asking for everything in one shot would produce something meaningful.

AI has not advanced enough for me to have the whole thing handed to me on a plate. Not yet.

Even More Context Is Still Far behind a Biological Brain

No matter how efficiently AI compresses and organizes the vast amount of context stored in my head and the vast amount accumulated across different departments since the company was founded, it is still a long way from matching the contextual capacity of a biological brain. Not yet.

That must be why we keep thinking up every kind of methodology—Second Brains,¹ LLM Wikis,² and whatever else—and why all those specialized services for specific fields are still surviving.

I Mistook Burning Tokens for Doing Work

If I start by setting a Goal and watch the tokens gently melt away, it feels as if I am working hard. I have realized again that I was really just throwing money into thin air.

After wasting this much time on UI/UX design, part of me wonders whether I should finally pay for Figma AI and use it… but for now, I will keep that as the last resort.

Now I know how lazy it is to rely on AI’s one-shot magic. Now I know how reckless it is to trust a flash of inspiration and intuition and just start building without thinking.

I need to break free from the fantasy that I can accomplish anything alone as long as I have one AI beside me, and become humble. (Of course, it might be possible if I learn to use AI “better,” but right now my ability is not there yet.)

I need to recognize that my bulldozer-style conversational prompts can disrupt the AI’s working context, and become humble.

Humility Finally Let Me See the Good Examples

Once I equipped myself with some humility, my eyes finally opened. Come to think of it, the internet is already full of good UI/UX examples built over years by pioneers in the field working together with countless people, isn’t it?

Imitation is the mother of invention.

For now, I will search for and study plenty of good examples, feed them to the AI and to my own head, and let us learn together.
