πŸ’ Diary

Recently, as the AIFFELthon project schedule has become very busy, staying up all night has become more frequent. As staying up all night became more frequent, I naturally needed to manage my time more efficiently, and I stopped writing diaries that were deemed unnecessary at the moment.

And as a result, even though I had enough time to write a diary on the Lunar New Year holiday, I ended up skipping writing a diary, and as I was skipping it, writing a diary was now completely excluded from my daily assignments.

You’re busy working on a project right now, so where’s the time to write a diary? Hey… let’s not lie. I have time to watch YouTube while riding the bus. I’m just making excuses because I want to maintain the inertia of rest.

But even if I knew that, I couldn’t possibly start writing a diary.

Then I suddenly remembered that I had written down my life verse after watching the video above.

How to break inertia of rest: Set and execute ultra-fine sub-goals that can be accomplished in just 2 minutes.

Yeah. When I can’t do something, I can set an ultra-micro sub-goal that takes less than 2 minutes and execute it, right?

  • Write a diary entry? Too much trouble.
  • Choose a diary topic? Too much trouble.
  • Update TickTick - Habit Tracker? Too much trouble.
  • TickTick - Habit Tracker - Today - Reflection: Filling in a life quote? Okay, this much is possible.

After breaking the inertia of rest and starting to move, this time momentum was created.
In the end, I went through the list above in reverse order, and I am now writing today’s diary on my phone while on the bus.

Look. Well, getting started is half the battle.
It’s difficult to make a stationary object move.

But suddenly this thought occurred to me.

What if I had not left my wireless earphones at my parents’ house during the Lunar New Year holiday?
What if the wired earphones I brought home today had a Type C port so I could plug them into my phone? Of course, I must have watched YouTube on the bus. Because I’ve been living like that for several years.

However, thanks to riding the bus without earphones today, I was able to break the inertia of killing time on the bus for the first time in a long time. Very good.

Whether I interpret this whole situation as a series of coincidences or as an inevitability will be up to me.

I accept that this is a coincidence, but I want to give it meaning as an inevitability. Anyway, I’m happier that way.
Therefore, I cannot help but thank the Lord once again for leading me into this whole situation.

The project ends on February 10th. Let’s cheer up a little more!

βœ… What Went Well (Keep)

  • πŸš€ Resuming diary writing: I liked that I broke inertia of rest and started writing diary again. Setting small goals and executing them was effective.
  • πŸ› οΈ Habit Reorganization: It’s impressive that solving sub-goals one by one in TickTick naturally leads to writing a diary.
  • πŸ™ Discovering gratitude even in trivial situations: It is positive that I accepted that the trivial incident of leaving my earphones behind became an opportunity to change my habits and gave it meaning.

❌ Problem

  • ⏳ Lack of physical strength and schedule management: It is unfortunate that as staying up all night becomes more frequent, life patterns break down and important routines are interrupted.
  • πŸ“‰ Underachievement of goals: Not achieving any of the three major goals, especially noticeable in the fact that weight management has become difficult.

πŸ”„ Things to try (Try)

  • πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ Increased priority for physical fitness: As your schedule is busy, let’s pay attention to weight management by securing a consistent sleep time and controlling your diet.
  • πŸ”„ Optimize your work routine: Build an efficient routine by maintaining only the minimum essential routines (exercise, diary, development log, etc.) until the end of the project.
  • ⏰ Expanding the application of the 2-minute habit: Let’s apply the method of breaking the inertia (executing micro-goals for less than 2 minutes) to other routines and restart reading or development journaling that is currently being put off.

Conclusion
Today was a day where I started writing my diary again and saw how small actions can make a big difference. We will encourage you to manage your physical strength and routine until the end of the project and continue your habits! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯
