After burnout hit a few days ago, I took enough rest time over Saturday and Sunday.
Then today I suddenly wondered.
βWhat do I do when I rest?β
When I calmly looked back, really, no joke, there were only three things: games, YouTube, and cycling.
Meditation, prayer, walks, even Namuwiki, which I used to like so much, had all disappeared from my rest list long ago.
I am worried that my daily life has become too soaked in βunhealthy restβ whose main ingredient is cheap dopamine.
I remember recently asking someone what they do to rest.
Someone said βreading,β someone said βblogging,β and even someone said they think of βhealth clubβ and βboxingβ as rest.
It was shocking. I have always thought of things like reading/blogging/health club/boxing as homework, and only felt burdened by them. But βrestβ!
Before, I would just say, βOh~ I guess that perspective is possible too,β and move onβ¦
But these days, when I want to have a more βhealthy rest,β it gives me more to think about.
Maybe I need a shift in thinking toward a less stimulating, calmer, more productive way of resting.
